Access is by invitation

There is no open registration. Sign-in is through Google, checked against an invitation list, and an address that is not on that list will be refused. Do not share your access, and tell us if it should be revoked.

Your work stays yours

You keep all rights in the documents you upload and in the translations produced from them. We claim no ownership over your material, and we do not use it to train ProtoGloss. We will not name you as a customer without your written permission.

What you are responsible for

You need the right to upload and translate the material you send us. We do not check that, and we rely on you.

What we do not promise

ProtoGloss produces a draft that needs human review. It is not a finished translation and we do not present it as one. We do not guarantee a particular quality score, a particular level of edit reduction, or that a given target language will work well outside the pair we have evaluated.

The product is at an early stage. Features change, and while we try not to break things that people depend on, we would rather say plainly that this is a moving product than pretend otherwise.

Cost

Every job shows an estimated cost before it runs. Estimates are estimates. Anything commercial beyond a free evaluation is agreed with you in advance, in writing.

Availability

We do not offer an uptime guarantee at this stage. If you need one, that is a conversation to have with us before you depend on it, not a clause to discover afterwards.

Ending it

You can stop using ProtoGloss whenever you like and ask us to delete your material. We can end access if it is being used in a way that breaks these terms or the law, and we will tell you why.

Liability

Nothing here is intended to limit rights you have under the law where you live. Beyond that, our liability is limited to what you have paid us for the work in question.

ProtoGloss is operated from Canada. This page is written in plain language and will be replaced by a fuller agreement as the company formalises.
